MAKE ME AN OFFER ON PLATES... The front is a slimline but can be changed for standard @ a cost.

I am looking for reasonable offers. The Qld plate can be negotiated as part of the deal or will be sold separately. Thousands have just been spent on fuel lines, engine, steering, electricals and tyres brought up to new.

Now the good : 14 month bare metal restoration in 2008/9. All rust removed and rust proofing added into the known issue areas. Any damaged panels were painstakenly dollied back into shape, lead filled and metal filed befor painting. I was promised less than a teaspoon of filler was used and I have no reason to doubt this as I have gone over the car with a magnet and it seems to check out. In saying this, this was not a concourse restoration. Whilst every care was taken for originality, there are issues that could be easily spotted but also rectified at a cost.

The engine was bored out 30 thou and rebuilt with a 351 MAB crank, Larry Perkins ACL pistons, medium Crow cam and valves, 600 Holley etc. The auto box was rebuilt (with a stall converter) as were the diff and brakes all up costing approx $15k for engine and driveline. The gearbox was changed to a C10(pan-filled C4) at some time and a long range fuel tank added - the tank has recently been restored (not to factory specs) and added back to the vehicle. The original purchaser owned Nambucca Marine so I presume it was used for towing boats long distances ???

A new twin 2.5 inch exhaust system was installed by Fat Pipes and it sounds amazing - a sound file can be provided upon request. It brings smiles and weak knees to many a female friend and enthusiast alike.

I have carefully stored away 4m of the seat material that was reproduced in 2008 by an enthusiast. The drivers seat is disassembled but all the parts are there. I have verbal quotes of approx. $1400 for the seats in Brisbane. The carpet and roof lining is all new but the door cards are a bit tired - I see these can now be replaced with reproductions. I only have 4 1978 globes but, as the restored long range tank has no wheel well in the boot, a slim 15" spare may be a better option to get you home...

My reason for selling is due to business expansion opportunities. I love this car and have owned it since 1996 when it was a daily driver for me and then my wife. Back when it was 'you paid how much for what???' to today when you are the centre of attention and children wave and smile from the back of their plastic fortresses...

Here is the link to a YouTube video just recorded and uploaded : https://youtu.be/dGtnHh258b4

Anyway, I have given the postcode of my business in Brighton Qld. Viewing and driving can be arranged on the Northside of Brisbane depending on demand and exchange of details.
