1974 XB GT Hardtop

Trans - B - T-bar FMX auto

A stunning and ever-popular combo, Yellow Blaze, Black trim, Auto, Air, Steer with Windback sunroof. A hero colour with an options list that makes it the ideal cruiser that can be enjoyed by the whole family, perfect for a couple to get away for the weekend, or maybe you're after something to just get out and cruise on your own or with friends? The current owner has used this GT for all of these uses and to make lasting family memories. However, other investments mean the GT is looking for a new loving home.

It is currently on Club Rego and driven often. However, the Club Rego is not transferrable. Would pass rego inspection in all states, nothing needed.

Body:

Original body with all factory panels. It was sympathetically restored in the early 2000s, where the exterior was carefully stripped back to bare metal, and minimal repairs were needed prior to being resprayed. At the time, the blackouts were done in glass black; however, these have all been resprayed recently in their correct satin black and looked great. The paint presents very well; there are some minor blemishes, stone chips and scratches when you start looking for them, but overall, it still looks great, and I see no need for any attention to the paint for many years to come. There is no sign of any rust in the car at all, with the only tiny exception being a bubble in the bonnet, which has not changed in many years and has been left untouched.

Engine:
Original matching numbers 351 4v (4 barrel) engine with correct small port heads. The engine was rebuilt back when the car was painted; it runs and sounds excellent and is very reliable. The engine is essentially stock and original except an aftermarket Holley. It still runs the original cast intake and exhaust manifolds. The radiator has been replaced and there are no overheating issues on long highway trips or cruising around town in traffic. You will note in the photo of the engine that the number is stamped as JG66PB82079K instead of JG66PT82079K; this is still a correct matching numbers engine of which you are welcome to verify with the GT Historian. The car was scheduled to be built in April 74 (PT) but was not completed until early 10/74, of which the engine was stamped and fitted in the factory in September 74 and given the PB stamping. Whilst a rare and unique occurrence it is 100% matching numbers and correct.

The original FMX is in good condition, shifts nicely, and the torque converter feels to be standard.

The 9" diff has recently been rebuilt, including freshly painted housing with factory paint markings, etc. The diff gears have been replaced with a set of 3.25:1 gears to give it a bit more low-end take-off whilst having minimal effect at highway speeds (it was recently taken on an hour+ drive down the freeway and sat comfortably on 110 km.

The exhaust is as per factory spec, sounds good, and presents as per factory with correct GT tips.

The factory 14x6" 12 slotters have been blasted and painted, they have new GT centre caps and dress rims fitted along with new tyres and have just been freshly red walled (note the tyres have been replaced since these photos were taken). If you would prefer mags we may be able to work out a deal as we have several designs available that would suit the GT great.

Interior:
Factory black XB GT interior all presents in great condition with the only blemishes being a couple of minor cracks in the dash pad (alebit hidden under neat carpeted dash cover. The dash is all original inc still retaining a factory cassette deck (not currently wired up).

Overall:

Everything from nose to tail of this GT presents well, drives great, turns head and really enjoyable to drive.

The GT also comes with a tailor-made Yellow and Black indoor car cover.

The contact details of all owners dating back to the 90s will be included with the car.
