Up for sale is my immaculate XA GT sedan replica. Original matching-numbers XA Fairmont. As we know, GTs started out as Fairmonts and this was a minimum starting point for this project. It’s taken 4 years, tens of thousands of dollars and as many concourse parts used as possible to get this car looking, driving and feeling as close to the real deal as possible. Now it’s come to end for me and would love to see it go to a good home.
99% of this car is either brand new or has been reconditioned. From the overriders to headlights, the rubber to roof lining, this build was meticulous to say the least. The only thing we couldn’t replace was the drip rails so my panel beater made our own.
Complete respray in 2pac and body work performed by a panel beater with 20 years experience. Original GT guards used (they cost a pretty penny) and original colour coded paint (polar white). It has new GT badges and rear wing. All chrome has been polished and is in great knick. GT grill and chrome dressing was $2000 alone. Both front and rear windscreens replaced. Under body has been fully rust proofed. Tyres and wheels fantastic condition with Globes fitted.
Full original GT spec interior. I went to the trouble of locating the original material an old school upholsterer had stashed to make this trim. Everything redone, seats, carpet with professional underlay, kick panels, B and C pillars trim, seat belts, parcel shelf, rear view mirrors, roof lining, interior light covers, door trims and accessories, sun visors and boot lining redone, window winders and door handles. GT Rimblow steering wheel. Completely new rubber kit through and new scuff plates.
Reconditioned, matching numbers 302 V8 and original auto column shift. Doesn’t skip a beat and sounds tough! Fitted a brand new full twin exhaust with brand new tips. Brakes have been overhauled front and rear with reco brake booster and new master, reco calipers/ new pads and machined discs and new hard lines at the diff. Has been fully re-wired and also comes with new battery. New cooling system with new external trans cooler. Lights and indicators work as they should. Horn and kill switch fitted to dash. New suspension all round and new fuel line. Brand new dizzy, coil and leads. Fresh oil and plugs.
Well there’s the run down on my pride and joy that I’ve loved very much. Duty calls for me to sell with other priorities taking preference.
This car will surely turn heads and will definitely go up in value over the coming years.
