Description

Now for sale is this super rare and absolutely gorgeous Signal Flare Red '66 Mustang GT Convertible. A superb example featuring the genuine matching numbers A code 225hp 289ci 4V and C4 auto. For sale from our Sydney Showroom.

This has got to be one of the sweetest Mustangs we have seen for quite some time. Running the matching numbers 289 4V V8 and factory C4 3 speed auto, this GT Mustang was imported to Australia on the 21st of November, 2008 by the current owner from Santa Ana, California from the original one owner family.

Restored in the USA prior to importation and still in stunning condition to this day. Mechanically the original engine was rebuilt in 2007 with the engine bay left unrestored to maintain the originality of the car. The GT is running the factory 4BBL Autolite carby with carby tag and factory exhaust manifolds through to the dual exhaust system. The car has just been fully serviced with all oils replaced.

The Mustang is optioned with the GT Equipment Group which includes power front disc brakes, grille-mounted original fog lights, dual exhaust pipes exiting through the rear valence, stripes on the rocker panels, Styled steel wheels, and 16:1 steering ratio. The interior is resplendent in contrasting red and white full Pony trim with the GT Rallye Pack instrument cluster of tacho and clock mounted onto the steering column and sports centre console. The car is also optioned with power top, power steering, working air conditioning and AM radio. All gauges have been serviced and work perfectly as does the horn. All chrome and brightwork is in excellent condition.

GT cars also came equipped with the Special Handling package, which includes stiffer springs, heavy-duty shocks, a 13/16-inch sway bar and a quicker steering box.

The boot is also fully detailed with new carpet and checker boot liner.

The GT also comes with a Certificate of Title, import paperwork and a receipt and photo file of the service parts and works undertaken.

Convertible Mustangs are the most desirable of the early Mustangs and a genuine GT equipped car in a hero colour makes for a highly collectible classic Ford.

On full NSW registration until February, 2023. Nothing to spend just enjoy this superb GT. Certainly a pleasure to own and a real head turner.
