This GT was sold new at Bowral Ford in NSW to Thorn Hill Pastoral Co.

It was sold to a Mr David John Benson in 1985 and  sent through Pickles Auctions.

It was then purchased from Pickles by the caryard “Homebush Intersection” on Parramatta Road.

It was then passed on to Rodney John MaCann and resold through “Catchpenny Cars” on the Hume Highway in Lansvale.

After one year of caryard attempts, in 1986 Greg Allan Schmidt and his son purchased the car and a full nut and bolt restoration of the car, minus the interior was carried out.

The car was then sold in 2006 to Michael Frank  Gracyzk and the car was rust proofed and serviced.

In 2007 the car was sold to Mark Brownless and was hardly used.

In January of this year the car was sold to a car flipper in SA he did not register it and we purchased it of him almost immediately.

The car has only travelled 3500 miles in the last 20 years. 500 of which were done by me in the last month.

There are no books with the car.

Paint and Body:

The body and paint on this XW GT are excellent as the car was restored approximately 15 years ago and it still presents extremely well. There is one small ding from the inside of the boot in the rear driver’s side rear quarter, refer to the photographs to see this.

Wheels and Tyres:

The car has its original Kelsey Hayes riveted 12 slot rims and new tyres fitted, the spare carries a period correct tyre. The centre caps, dress rims and wheel nuts are genuine original items correct for this GT.

The GT retains its original genuine matching numbers block and all of it’s ancillaries. The car has had its power assisted steering removed but we have every part to return it to the car. This can be done prior to purchase if negotiated. The vehicle runs faultlessly I drive it often and recently drove it to Valla and back from Sydney. The engine is showing 70,000 miles. The engine bay is extremely original and complete. The car pulls hard.

The 3 speed FMX automatic works perfectly and offers a beautiful drive.

The original black vinyl trim in this car is unrestored, original and in incredible condition. The outer panel on the driver’s seat base has been replaced.

Under carriage:

The undercarriage was gone through prior to registration anything that required replacing was, the car drives like a new vehicle.

If you are after an extremely clean, honest and reliable XW GT Falcon look no further. I drive this vehicle as often as possible. It always starts runs and behaves as you would expect a reliable daily driver vehicle to behave. The radio doesn’t work, the car sounds amazing, so that has been left as is.

We welcome any inspections on the vehicle and are happy to answer any questions or make time for you to view the vehicle at your convenience.
