Affordable classic - Factory Performance, The "Fairlane by Tickford" (FBT). It is a very rare Tickford enhanced performance vehicle - 195kw 5.0 litre Windsor V8. Built in house at TVE - Tickford Vehicle Engineering, now known as FPV - Ford Performance Vehicles. Basically, this car is a long wheelbase version of the 30th anniversary 1997 EL GT Falcon. A limited production model with only 106 built and only available in 2 colours - 58 Regency Red & 48 Navy Blue. Each vehicle was individually fitted with its own Tickford build number identification placard in the engine bay (just like the EL GT’s were to indicate their limited production numbers), this one is FBT #26. The Fairlane by Tickford retained a lot of the performance parts that were fitted to the EL GT. Such as, the GT camshaft with 1.7 ratio Crane roller rockers, 24lb injectors, 75mm GT MAF, ceramic coated EL GT extractors, tuned exhaust system, EL GT twin piston front brake callipers with big 330mm rotors, upgraded intake manifold, sports suspension, 3.45 limited slip differential, 4 speed automatic transmission with "adaptive shift" feature. This is also the only E-Series derived vehicle to be fitted with the improved high performance GT40P cylinder heads (the EL GT was equipped with GT40 heads). These GT40P cylinder heads would later become the performance cylinder head of choice for Ford in the hand built V8 engines found in the following AU XR8 models. The "Fairlane by Tickford" is identified from the regular model Fairlane with its unique mesh grille, exterior badging, 6 spoke 17inch alloy wheels, lower ride height, bolstered front bucket seats with two-tone leather interior and a Momo woodgrain & leather steering wheel.

 This car presents very well for a 26 year old vehical, It is very origional and has not been modified, everything on this car works the way it should. From the sports automatic transmission with its 3-stage programmable "adaptive shift" mode, power windows, central locking, air conditioning / climate control, cruise control etc. This car has a low 149,000kms, and was recently serviced with all new fluids/filter etc.

Factory fitted are, premium sound system with 6-disc CD stacker, tinted windows, sunroof, 6 spoke Speedline wheels. This car is currently on club rego and comes with VIC plates FBT- 026, owner’s manual, Tickford supplement manual and logbooks, Genuine offers are will be considered. An amazing vehicle to drive - a true Grand Tourer. It has all the luxury features you would expect to find in a Fairlane - with the added performance and handling of a EL GT Falcon, this was the car to buy in 1998 (RRP $70,500). Not many people know what this car is. With only 106 being produced, many die hard Ford enthusiasts don't even know that this model even exists. Keep this in mind - there were a total of 270 EL GT's built and only 106 of the Fairlane by Tickford, making this a very exclusive & limited production performance car.
