1974 FORD FALCON XB GS V8 SEDAN
EXPIRED
The XB series was introduced in 1973 as the second iteration to the Falcon, with production
running until 1976. The XB was the replacement to the XA, receiving minor cosmetic
changes. The GT model lined continued through the XB series in Sedan and Hardtop
variants.
This particular example is a stunning 1974 Ford Falcon XB GS finished in the alluring
‘Emerald Fire’. As with the iconic XB shape, the styling is reserved yet still makes a statement
against similar cars of its time. As per GS specification, this XB features the gold ‘GS stripe
decal across the length of the body and twin bonnet scoops. A set of ‘Bathurst globe’ style
wheels appear at each corner with Black venetian blinds fitted to the rear windscreen to
complete the look of this tough XB.
The black vinyl trim presents excellently throughout the interior, contrasting against the well-
presented ‘Emerald Fire’ body. The interior is understated and driver focused, with subtle
woodgrain highlights through the centre console and to the GS steering wheel. Fine details
such as the Toploader shift knob give a true period-correct feel to this XB GS.
This genuine ‘K’ code XB GT once ran a 351ci V8, but now boasts a 408ci stroker, mated to a
4-speed Toploader transmission and a 9-inch differential. This stout combination provides for
an outstanding driving experience with plenty of sound and go!
